Plan B will introduce Bitcoin Lightning Network technology to private enterprises, providing the necessary infrastructure and expertise for integrating Bitcoin, Tether, and LVGA payments. This initiative builds upon the existing network of nearly 300 local merchants accepting the city's payment token, LVGA. By the end of 2023, Plan B had already enlisted over 1000 shops, paving the way for a gradual transition to living and working in Lugano without relying on traditional fiat currency.
In 2022, as a result of the highly fruitful collaboration between the City of Lugano and Thether, Lugano has emerged as a preeminent hub for global financial investors. This partnership has formally recognized several cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, USDt, and LVGA, as legitimate forms of legal tender within the city. Consequently, these digital currencies are now accepted methods of payment for a wide array of public services within Lugano. Both individuals and corporate entities are afforded the option to settle any taxes and fees issued by the Municipality in BTC and USDt without limitation.
